Situation情景：Cathy wants to transfer her post of receptionist into a personnel officer. She came to talk with the general manager about this.

6 are familiar with 对某事熟悉，同样还可以用另一个短语be familiar to,但是这个短语的主语是物，宾语是人。
例句：
He is quite familiar with the characters in the novel. / The characters in the novel are quite familiar to him.
他对小说中的人物相当熟悉。
7 salary increase 加薪
例句：
The board promised to give a considerable salary increase for the workers in order to stop their strikes earlier.

Americans can even pay an extra fee to get a special license plate, called a vanity plate, showing a unique combination of letters or numbers they have chosen for themselves.
